How to get your Brave Search API key

Where to get it

Before you start

• You need to subscribe to a plan (card required) before creating a key. There are $5 of free credits each month, and on the free plan the card is only used for verification.

Create the key

1. Sign in to the Brave Search API dashboard and subscribe to a plan.
2. Open API Keys and click Add API Key.
3. Copy the key and paste it under Settings › Connections › Web search in Montagist.

Connect it to Montagist

1. In Montagist, open Settings › Connections › Web search and find the Brave Search card.
2. Paste the key.
3. Click Test connection: it runs in the cloud and shows the result and timing, with a plain explanation if it fails.
