How to get your Custom (OpenAI-compatible) API key

In Montagist, your Custom (OpenAI-compatible) key is used for the AI steps — topic, fact ledger, capture plan, script and storyboard (you can pick a model per step in settings).

Create the key

  1. Create a key with the service you use and note its endpoint and model name.
  2. Under Settings › Connections › Models choose Custom (OpenAI-compatible) and fill in the endpoint, key and model name.
  3. Save, then click Test connection.

Connect it to Montagist

  1. In Montagist, open Settings › Connections › Models and find the Custom (OpenAI-compatible) card.
  2. Paste the key.
  3. Click Test connection: it runs in the cloud and shows the result and timing, with a plain explanation if it fails.

Notes

  • Take the endpoint and model name from that service's own documentation.
