How to get your Kimi (Moonshot AI) API key

In Montagist, your Kimi (Moonshot AI) key is used for the AI steps — topic, fact ledger, capture plan, script and storyboard (you can pick a model per step in settings).

Where to get it

Open the Kimi (Moonshot AI) key pageplatform.kimi.ai/console/api-keys

Before you start

  • On the mainland site, platform.kimi.com (formerly platform.moonshot.cn), complete personal verification and top up first. The international site is platform.kimi.ai (formerly platform.moonshot.ai).

Create the key

  1. Sign in and open API key management.
  2. Create a new key and name it Montagist.
  3. Copy the key and paste it into Montagist.

Connect it to Montagist

  1. In Montagist, open Settings › Connections › Models and find the Kimi (Moonshot AI) card.
  2. Paste the key.
  3. Choose the mainland China or international endpoint — whichever matches the site where you created the key.
  4. Click Test connection: it runs in the cloud and shows the result and timing, with a plain explanation if it fails.

Notes

  • Choose the endpoint of the site where you created the key.
