How to get your MiniMax API key

In Montagist, your MiniMax key is used for the AI steps — topic, fact ledger, capture plan, script and storyboard (you can pick a model per step in settings).

Where to get it

Open the MiniMax key pageplatform.minimax.io/user-center/basic-information/interface-key

Before you start

  • The mainland site is platform.minimax.cn (formerly platform.minimaxi.com); top up under Account › Balance.
  • A pay-as-you-go key works for every model, including speech. Subscription-plan keys are a different kind, found under subscription management.

Create the key

  1. Go to Account › API Keys.
  2. Click Create new secret key.
  3. Copy the key and paste it into Montagist.

Connect it to Montagist

  1. In Montagist, open Settings › Connections › Models and find the MiniMax card.
  2. Paste the key.
  3. Choose the mainland China or international endpoint — whichever matches the site where you created the key.
  4. Click Test connection: it runs in the cloud and shows the result and timing, with a plain explanation if it fails.

Notes
