How to get your Qwen (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio) API key

In Montagist, your Qwen (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio) key is used for the AI steps — topic, fact ledger, capture plan, script and storyboard (you can pick a model per step in settings).

Where to get it

Open the Qwen (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio) key pagemodelstudio.console.alibabacloud.com/ap-southeast-1/settings/api-key

Before you start

  • Activate Alibaba Cloud Model Studio with your Alibaba Cloud account; complete identity verification if prompted.
  • After the free quota is used up, the account must not be in arrears.
  • Creating keys requires the main account or a workspace administrator.

Create the key

  1. Open the API Key page in the Model Studio console (Alibaba Cloud Bailian for mainland China) and choose the region at the top right.
  2. Click Create API Key, choose the account and workspace, and confirm.
  3. Copy the key and paste it into Montagist — international keys are shown in full only once, at creation.

Connect it to Montagist

  1. In Montagist, open Settings › Connections › Models and find the Qwen (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio) card.
  2. Paste the key.
  3. Choose the mainland China or international endpoint — whichever matches the site where you created the key.
  4. Click Test connection: it runs in the cloud and shows the result and timing, with a plain explanation if it fails.

Notes

  • Keys only work in the region where they were created: Beijing keys use the mainland endpoint, Singapore keys the international one.
